South Sister Camping/Climbing Trip

Where : South Sister (near Mount Bachelor)
Why: To have some fun with your EWB friends!
Cost: $20.00 (Payment will be used for group meals on Saturday night and Sunday morning)
Maximum Capacity: 24 people (first come first serve basis)

Agenda:
Come either Friday or Saturday, depending on your schedule. (Let us know when to expect you!)
Friday: Arrive at the trailhead by 3pm and hike to Moriane Lake to setup camp.
Saturday: Arrive by 9am at the trailhead and hike to Moriane Lake. For everyone that is interested, a group will start the hike to the summit once those coming Saturday morning have arrived. For those not wishing to summit, Moraine lake offers swimming, beauty, and several day hiking opportunities. After a long day of climbing mountains, we’ll be tired, but we will cook you dinner! That’s just how we are.
Sunday: Take it easy sleepyhead, breakfast will be provided! After breakfast we will break camp and hike back to the cars.
Some Recommendations/Expectations
- 3-4 liters of water/person for the hike in and climbing the mountain
- Proper hiking boots
- Rain Gear
- Wind Protection
- Expect 34 degree nights, and 40+ mph winds at the summit. layering is good.
- The drive to the trailhead is about 2.5 hrs from Eugene
