Work to be Done
Meeting Minutes: Remember to check the archived meeting minutes to keep up to date on the particulars of what is happening at meetings every week.
Banquet: We have decided to hold our banquet on February 13, 2010, at the Multnohmah Arts Center in Portland. The event will be called “Kenya Love”. Felicia Kirsch will be catering the event with well researched and developed Kenyan cuisine . EWB members will serve as her staff. The project team will be bringing back items from Kenya to be auctioned off at the banquet. Continuing work includes:
- Sending out “save the dates”
- Planning events and decoration
- Advertising and sending invitations
- Finding out who to send invitations to
Water Walk: The water walk has been tentatively rescheduled for next spring. Group effort will be focused on grants, the banquet, and the water challenge.
Water Challenge: We would like to get people involved with the water challenge. This is where you drink water in place of other beverages for two weeks, and then donate the money you saved to EWB. We have not yet selected a time frame in which to hold this event.
Grants: We are currently looking into several grants for project funding. We need to know what is available, how and when to apply. We are working on sending letters of interest to groups and foundations, and would like to apply for grants as soon as possible.
We have sent out our Letter of Inquiry (LOI) to the Western Union Foundation. We will hear back from them around the end of September, when we may be invited to submit a full application.
Other Fund Raising: All project members should be trying to spread the word about the project. If individuals are going to help support us, they must know about us and what we are doing.
