One method recommended by Advisor

· Dig a hole to refusal ( not to roots but a rock big enough that can not be passed)

· See how fast the hole fills

· Time this ( record right away or in 5 minutes)

· Record color of the soil

o Dark Grey

o Blue Grey

o Dark Brown

• Record how deep the water is from the ground surface (top of the hole)
• Record the consistency of the soil (dirt)
  • Sandy
  • Finer than sand but not sticky
  • Gravel
