October 2, 2008 at 5:44 pm | In Meeting Minutes |Project Meeting 9/29/08
· Overview for new members: We have been working on creating a sanitary water system for around 500 people in 3 communities in El Salvador.
· Summer project detail. (see trip report)
· This year we will have people designated to get newcomers up to speed at each meeting.
· Open positions:
o Financial coordinator
o Travel coordinator
· We also need to make a point to send people to board meetings to keep in touch with them.
· Goals for this year
o Rainwater catchments in Cerro Caballo
o Other nearby communities might be interested in what we’re doing, though they are more remote.
o We need to build the wash stations we agreed to build. Most of the materials are already purchased.
o El Naranjito is last section of the original project left. It is also the most populous.
o Continue public health education in the communities.
o Create a 512 document (or something similar, about one page on our progress) for EWB national, mostly for the benefit of the people who supply out funding.
· We voted on the project during next trip: We will work on rain water catchments in Cerro Caballo. Wash stations and health surveys are secondary.
