May 5, 2009 at 7:37 pm | In Meeting Minutes | Comments OffAnnouncements:
- We have a storage space in the Peavey basement, Aparna has the key.
- Scott was approached by the OSU foundation, and will pursue a contact to get us on the list for donations
- Conference call tomorrow with Peter Waugh. Scott, Michelle, Brad, and Malia will attend.
General:
- The potters for peace filters need to be renewed but, are becoming too expensive. Malia will find out what happens if they’re not replaced in two years.
- Slow sand filters are another, longer lasting, option. They shouldn’t be too expensive. We could also build a community system at the tanks.
- Though they have a higher initial cost than Potters for Peace type filters, they are more sustainable and require less maintenance.
- Malia has a slow sand filter construction manual that will be emailed out to the listserv.
Project Team:
- Continued work on tank designs.
- Cost for a block tank estimated to be ~$1000.
- Still not sure about the price of plastic
