Partnership Brewing with OSU Biodiesel Initiative

January 16, 2008 at 2:19 pm | In Old News |

A possible partnership is in the works between EWB-OSU and the OSU Biodiesel Initiative. The Biodiesel Initiative is currently working on a plan to design and implement a small-scale, sustainable biodiesel production facility for the residents of Narukunibua, Fiji. A recent proposal from the Biodiesel Initiative would form a partnership that would involve members from both clubs participating in the research, design, and implementation of the plant in Narukunibua.

For the proposal to be accepted, however, the EWB-OSU general membership will need to vote to approve the proposal. Currently, we are planning to have a presentation by the OSU Biodiesel initiative at the general meeting on January 30th, which will be followed by a vote by the general membership to approve or reject the Narukunibua proposal. See the meeting minutes of the EWB-OSU board meeting on Jauary 9th, 2008 for more information.

More info about the Narukunibua project can be found on the OSU Biodiesel Initiative’s homepage: http://biodiesel.oregonstate.edu/.
