- Raising funds to go on research trip, planning trip to Kenya at the end of summer
- How did we find out about community
- Different communities apply to EWB USA, Lela applied to EWB USA
- 400 people community, river next to village dries up in the dry season
- Have to walk 3 km away to another village in the dry season to get water
- Talk to community about every week
- Hung up on us the first time
- Have to ask about community, and weather, then can get into conversation and won’t get hung up on
- First time we talked to them they said they would sacrifice a goat once they have water
- They are excited for us to come
- When we told we were only staying for a week they were wanting us to stay for a month
- 6-8 hour bus ride to Nairobi
- Kenya bus, what will that be like?
- How many people go on travelers go
- Labor intensive, then send more people
- But community gives the labor, we give the design

- Lady came to talk about Nairobi and surrounding areas
- Where to stay, food, helpful to have someone who has been there
- Will have contact information for someone in Nairobi to help us out, they are American
- Andy, job situation may change so may not be able to go on trip
- Budget cuts, may change jobs
- Bought most expensive travelers insurance, can get refunded for tickets and everything if have to
- Cover medical, and everything
- Talked to nationals, if Andy can’t go, then they may help us find someone, or may be able to find a professor in Nairobi that can be our professional
