EWB-Kenya Meeting Agenda

Announcements/updates:

• Haven’t made one since last week, but will call tonight

-          Regional EWB Workshop

• Friday, October 9^th – Sunday, October 11^th
• Poster contest
  • Win $500 to project if win contest
  • Due this Friday
  • E-mail Aparna if you’re interested in helping!
• COE should pay for most/all of cost
• Career fair

• Need a lot of involvement from freshman
• First Krispy Kreme sale October 5^th
• Maybe coffee and fruit too?

  • We do not have a key but Dr. Boston has one and so does John Sessions
    • Dr. Boston is typically there in the morning and John Sessions in the evening

Banquet (Group Breakout #1)

Water Challenge (Group Breakout #2)

-          Leader?

• Aparna or Kendra

-          Governmental geological survey

• Few hundred dollars
• Water project has community pay for this and do it, do we want to do something like this?
  • We are not sure about their financial situation want to figure this out before asking them

-          There will be a grad student that is working with the water project going to Kenya for 6-9 months to work on water and sanitation

• Should contact him

-          The Water Project has information and contacts for well drilling in country so once we get to this stage will want to talk to them once again

-          The Water Project has partnered with University of Notre Dame in a “campus water initiative”

• Maybe partner with them?
• The water project also works with University of Pennsylvania, and others

-          Do we want to wait till January/February

• Partner with different groups on campus, and be sponsored by water project
• Yes

• We can use and edit all their materials
