Kenya Meeting 4/16/2009

We had 4 groups to focus on different parts of fundraising and Kenya.

3 on 3 Group:

-dates- checking with Dixon

-thought of ways to advertise

-decided on rules

-will have captain’s meeting couple weeks before

-4 people per team, $10/team

-will try to find a free prize for winning team

Elementary School Group:

-discussed ideas for getting involved for project in the fall

-Evan has contact at new (sustainability oriented) school in Albany

-brainstormed ideas and educational information

Krispy Kreme:

-will pursue Donuts for Dollars

-Buy donuts for ½ off and sell for normal price

-Sell in the quad Monday morning

-Because it may be inconvenient to bring back krispy kreme, could need to go another route- buy ice cream and sell on Monday?

-could we sell at little league fields on weekends? 

Kenya’s History and Culture:

-topics that we should look into (delegated w/in the group):  land use practices and water use practices and regulations and water resource management; general geography and history; Hillary will look up political climate and travel logistics; health issues; Kelcy will look up climate; Mike will look at culture of area and try to find out what NGO presence is already there; something about EWB Kenya
