Board meeting 10/28/09

General

• $400 is due on the 31^st to re-register our chapter with nationals (althought there is no late fee until November 15^th). Lyndsey is taking care of this, she still has to find out the details

• only about 10 people have paid dues, we need to emphasize dues at meetings.

Workshops

• Dialogue is starting for workshops. Jason will start putting up google docs to help with organization.
• The water workshop looks like it is going to happen on the 14^th.
• kendra has the testing kit to use for that day
• There is a meeting set for Friday for the workshop
• paperwork and advertising are the big issue now

SSI project

• Michelle contacted Andrew, the guy working with SSI on the rainwater catchment program. He says they are moving pretty quick. They want to get started optimistically in the next few weeks.
• He wants to talk to Jason too. The project will be designed from Andrew’s experience, there may be no finalized design yet
• Michelle will keep in touch with him unless someone else from the workshops group wants to.
• It would be better to start winter term, but if we just have to show up to help build this term is fine.

Presentation next Monday

• The College Advisory Board has asked us to give a presentation on Monday. Scott, Brad and Aparna might present? This could be a good opportunity to find future funding sources

Kenya Travel app

• The travel applications for Kenya is out, it will be announced in the general meeting.
• Membership coordinator/committed involvement is an an expectation for the new traveler

Football fundraisers

• if we sell anything, we need to make sure we look official
• if we wont get into trouble we will look into doing something for the dads weekend game.

water bottles are another fund-raising option. A freshman working on the El Salvador project has volunteered to head this up.
