Roles and Responsibilities of the Officers
President –The president shall oversee all EWB-OSU activities, serve liaison to EWB-USA and other chapters, oversee and chair the Executive Committee, oversee and assist the Project Coordinator and Committee, submit the Annual Report to EWB-USA, and ensure that all chapter resolutions are carried into effect.
Vice President – The Vice-President shall assist in overseeing all EWB-OSU activities, coordinate speaker meetings, supervise the election of officers, oversee and assist Publicity Coordinator and Committee, and assumes duties of the President in his/her absence.
Treasurer – The Treasurer shall keep all finances of the Chapter in order, keep track of Donors, collect membership dues, oversee and assist the Fundraising Coordinator and Committee, and complete an Annual Financial Report to be submitted to EWB-USA.
Secretary – The Secretary shall assist in administrative management of all Chapter meetings, keel all members informed of meetings and activities, record and post meeting minutes, develop quarterly newsletter, and oversee and assist Membership Coordinator and Committee.
Fundraising Coordinator – The Fundraising Coordinator will oversee fundraising activities and shall work with the Treasurer and Secretary to track donations to the chapter. He/She will be responsible for composing an article concerning chapter fundraising efforts and accomplishments for the annual newsletter to be submitted to the Chapter Secretary.
Fundraising Secretary: He/She will be responsible for fundraising documentation and written communication. This will include keeping accurate records of grants (applied and received), donations and donors, and ensuring prompt and accurate delivery of thank you’s to donors and sponsors.
Grant Coordinator: He/She will be responsible for finding and applying for grants appropriate to the chapter and projects.
Event Coordinator: He/She will see to the attendance and organization of all fundraising events including sports fundraisers, banquets, etc.
Public Relations Coordinator – The PR Coordinator will publicize the mission and goals of the chapter and EWB-USA, advertise upcoming events and activities, and distribute chapter materials to interested individuals. He/She will oversee the organization of company presentations and management of club publications. He/She will work with the Chapter Secretary to publish the annual newsletter.
Corporate Presentation Coordinator: He/She will organize presentations of chapter activities and goals to companies in the region with the goal of increasing interest, enthusiasm, and sponsorship.
Campus Materials & Announcements: He/She will see that meeting announcements appear in the Barometer, department newsletters, the chapter website, etc. He/She will also organize chapter presence at appropriate campus events and manage club publications such as posters, brochures, presentations, and assistance in content administration of the website/club network space.
Membership Coordinator – The Membership Coordinator will maintain a database of current member information including name, membership status, mailing address, phone number, major/profession, and email address. He/She will also keep this information up to date with EWB-USA. He/She will work with the PR Coordinator and Secretary to keep members informed of upcoming meetings and activities and to help recruit new members.
Speaker & Workshops Coordinator– With member input and suggestions, he/she will plan speakers and events for each general meeting as well as at least one workshop per term.
Information Technology Coordinator– The IT Coordinator will oversee the development and revision of the chapter website, internal wiki, and databases. This includes working with the PR Coordinator, secretary, project leaders, and others to ensure that posted information is correct and well-organized in order to facilitate communication within the chapter and to the public.
Committee: The IT committee will work with the IT Coordinator to maintain club technologies and information.
Rotary Liaison – The Rotary Coordinator will act as a chapter representative to local and international rotary clubs. He/She will work with PR Coordinators to organize formal presentations and the distribution of materials and with the Fundraising Coordinators to track associated donations and grants.
Assistant: The Project Coordinator Assistant will aid the Project Coordinator in meeting planning and leadership, all project aspects, and communication within and outside of the chapter as needed.
Secretary: He/She will serve at the project meetings in the same capacity as the general secretary and general meetings. He/She will take accurate minutes and see that they are posted on the club website.
Travel Logistics and Workshops Coordinator: He/She will work with the Project Coordinator to prepare for travel by organizing travel logistics, traveler selection, and pre-trip workshops. Travel logistics include, but are not limited to airfare purchases, traveler documentation and immunizations, and assistance in organizing in-country transportation, food, and lodging.
Public Health Advisors/Committee: Members will monitor the means and the progress towards the betterment of community health and analysis of such. He/She should have knowledge of health care and community health monitoring and be able to report data of public health as is appropriate to that profession.
Design Committee: He/She will work with the project coordinator to facilitate the design process. He/She and the committee will hold design meetings and see that all aspects of the process are well documented and communicated to the chapter and to EWB-USA and TAC.
Professional Engineer
Local Project Coordinators –
Campus Wind Turbine Project: He/She leads the effort to construct wind turbines on campus in order to raise awareness of alternative energies.
Habitat for Humanity: He/She will communicate between Habitat for Humanity and EWB-OSU and organize collaboration between the two groups.
OSU Biodiesel/Fiji Project: He/She leads the development of a sustainable and affordable energy source in a Fijian village.
Organic Growers Club: He/She will organize the communication between the Organic Growers Club and EWB-OSU and coordinate the design and implementation of the project, including scheduling, materials, and volunteers.
